While pricing for hemp biomass is almost always done using a price per % CBD per pound (ppp), when talking about the pricing for smokable hemp flowers, there is far less consistency.
At this point the pricing for smokable flower is all over the place. Sellers use factors such as cannabinoid content, terpene profile, bud structure, trim quality, supply and volume purchased to be factors when coming up with a sales price. The October Spot Price Index from Hemp Benchmarks showed an assessed price of $319 with a low of $75 and a high of $600 per pound. This wide pricing spread is typical in a market with very little standardization and a wide variety of factors which are being used to determine value. As in most markets, it is ultimately the buyer who determines the sales price.
