Hemp Marketplace Home›Forums›RAWmarket.place Help›How to Be a Careful Buyer
One of the challenges in the still young and evolving hemp space is how to effectively vet sellers before sending them money. Even though the Hemp Marketplace does a first review on each seller, there are several other thing that are important to do before buyers send money to a someone you have not worked with before.
One of the first things is to check out their Profile on the Hemp Marketplace. A seller with a very slim profile or virtually no profile at all should cause pause. If a seller makes claims in their listing it is worth a look at their profile to crosscheck what they are saying.
Near the top of every listing you will see an icon outline of a person which you can select to bring up their profile. This will give you a glimpse of who they are and what they are involved with in the hemp space The short bio section may also tell you more about them.
In the coming months we will be adding additional profile information so learning about one another will be even easier and more informative.
Please let us know what information would be most helpful to you in a profile and we will incorporate as much of your suggestions as possible.
Zev,
We need a way to leave a review of the sellers. Either a forum topic, or better yet, on their ad page or profile listing. I still have not found a way to give a review of good sellers on here, and I have found one that is very good. It is scary to send money via wire to some place you have no info on. There is no buyer protection. So..
I visited this farm in person because it was less than 3 hours from my home. I saw the crops in the field, and the operation in the drying/trimming building. This is the ad that I am referencing;

Their flower is very good, and they are indeed a legit seller. I am more than pleased with what we bought from them, and will buy more soon.
Tim,
Sorry for the delay in responding as my computer gave up the ghost and needed to be replace.
About a year ago we were offering community members a way to leave a review but unfortunately the opportunity was squandered to both place ads and to say things that were completely inappropriate.
What you can do is to leave a forum post in support of a colleague that did the right thing. Like the total opposite of the “Scammers Hall of Shame.”
